چکیده

Abstract Sustainable biodegradation of cellulose fibers is critical for composting after the end a product’s life. In this study, we aimed at investigating effect in situ synthesized CuO/Cu 2 O nanoparticles (NPs) with biocidal concentration on behavior cotton pretreated 1,2,3,4-butanetetracarboxylic acid (BTCA) and succinic (SUC). Biodegradation was evaluated by soil burial tests garden model compost different times. The results showed that application BTCA, SUC, NPs did not affect hydrophilicity samples allowed smooth process. morphological chemical changes during biodegradation, FESEM FTIR analyses, presence slightly hindered 18 days soil. However, much faster compost, where all samples, regardless their modification, almost completely degraded only 11 days. Intense microbial growth surface nine confirmed proteins produced microorganisms. total number microorganisms remained unchanged increased test. exception sample highest NPs, which caused reduction but complete inhibition. These clearly material degradation, cellulosic supporting prevailed over suppression NPs.

With the emergence of "super bacteria" that are resistant to antibiotics, e.g., methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, novel antimicrobial therapies are needed to prevent associated hospitalizations and deaths. Bacteriophages and bacteria use cell lytic enzymes to kill host or competing bacteria, respectively, in natural environments. Taking inspiration from nature, we have employed a cel...
